Now you see me ...but I wish I didn't, A movie review!

Now You See Me

Where do I start? Now before I went to see this film all my friends went on and on about how this was, and I quote "the sickest film ever", yeah I'm worried for them to. I even ran down the street like an elephant stomping my way through crowds to make it on time to watch the movie from the very beginning as apparently "the initial point was crucial to the story".

I had high expectations, although none were met. I was under the illusion (no pun intended) this film would challenge my brain and I would go away perhaps slightly confused, however I felt the film was too obvious in revealing the tricks of the magicians taking away the excitement of the film.

After realising Dave Franco was in the film ten minutes in aka my husband/ long lost lover, I was sure it was going to be great but the problem was that as the film progressed his character became lost along with the other main cast Jessie Eisenburg, Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher. There characters all became lost within the narrative, now unless this was supposed to be some kind of alternative disappearing act? It was disappointing not to see the characters more and Mark Ruffalo ended up stealing the spotlight.

Woody Harrelson was hilarious in my opinion and more of his 'banter' between his casts mates would only have contributed positively to the minimal laughs we did experience.

A movie of deception. Then ruins it by overly explain every element and in doing so betraying the number one rule in magic. Perhaps a little more magic dust was needed Louis Leterrier?

A youtube review: Fran Birkby

Only just recently;  out of procrastination have I fallen in love with youtubers and their so called "community". I find it fascinating that one can be so brave to give them self to the internet; a land full of trolls and other mysterious creatures that come alive only behind a glowing screen. Lamb to the slaughter if you ask me but nevertheless I'm slowly becoming more addicted as each day passes, discovering hidden gems.

Here's a youtuber called FRAN, she's super cool if you follow her on twitter @bbbirkby and hilarious to.  She has such a beautiful tone to her voice that she conveys in her weekly videos. This cover of Eliza Doolittle’s Pack up will blow you away. At only 16 anyone can see a great future for this girl on YouTube. With already 200,000+  views on her youtube channel and counting, I hope as she grows she vlogs aswell and conveys her personality more into her video's. Surely the quality of her video's can only go up from here? Definitely one to watch! One of my favorite youtubers at the moment.

Follow for more youtube reviews. The more bored I get in summer, the more i'll do :D xxx

Summer expectations...

On the 19th June 2013, I waited with anticipation as the clock’s second hand ticked for that last time back round to 3.00pm.  As it did this I silently chanted “summer, summer, summer”. That familiar voice finally arrived “Please put down you pens and stop writing”. It was finally over,  all I had to do now was look forward to the endless summer parties, BBQ’s, prom and festivals that my mind had fictionally perceived to be what summer was going to be.
